Work Habits Checklist for Robotics/STEM
This behavior/participation checklist was developed as a tool for keeping track of student participation in a Robotics class. It is based on a point system. I found my middle school students were very receptive to this form of immediate feedback. This checklist could also be used in elementary, middle school, high school, and all grade levels.

John's Robotics: Robotics and STEM Career Student Interest Survey
This survey can be used as a pre-post tool for assessing your programs impact on students career choices or interest in the Robotics and STEM areas. Students take a few minutes to fill out this survey relating to their experience in robotics along with current and future interest in the STEM fields as a career pathway.

VEX IQ - Build a better Claw
This claw performs much better than the claw of the standard VEX IQ Clawbot. 1. Due to the 1:3 gear ratio, it is easier to control and has more torque. 2. The only place where torque is transferred by a shaft, is from the motor to the drive gear. All other torque transfers are done via gears and connectors – making it much sturdier. 3. It is a very compact design.

Lego Robotics Challenge
This worksheet is used with the Lego Mindstorms education kits. I used this approach for younger students or those who were struggling with the building and programming the robot provided with the kits. Students pick a robot from a list on the website, http://www.nxtprograms.com and then build the robot according to the instructions. Students can then load the prepared programs to run their robot.
