This formal debate activity sets up all of the guidelines for a classroom debate. Preparation time for the actual debate is roughly three days. But one debate should last only 45-50 minutes. Students will learn actual debate strategy, research skills, argumentation, speaking skills, and refutation. This does not teach an ethical stance.
