Esperanza Character Chart - House on Mango Street
The main character in House on Mango Street, Esperanza, changes drastically from the beginning to the end of the story. In this 'coming of age' story, Esperanza learns about her culture, who she is, who her friends are, and begins to define 'home' as a feeling and as people around her rather than a place.
