Function of ingredients in quick breads
This is a fun and quicker lab to introduce quick breads to the students. This lab will allow students to follow step-by-step directions in making pancakes (quick bread), and analyze and explore the function for each ingredient that goes into the pancake. It is always a hit in my classes!Great for both junior high/middle school and high school students.

Adventure Book Project
This project is based off the movie "Up" and their adventure book they had. I had my hospitality and tourism class create the entries and write about them, so that they got acquainted with the hospitality and tourism industry. This can be used for any subject and the students will love to take pictures and create this adventure book that they will keep at the end of the year.

Personality - Changes throughout lifespan
This 3 page interactive notebook was developed as an online portion of our lifespan development course. It could easily be used for independant living, phychology, teen life, adulting, or child development. Perfect for distance learning. This contains two 20-30 min short assignments and an longer 1 hour assignment where students listen to a 1 hour NPR podcast about personality changes and reflect on their findings. We learn about meyers briggs personality types and the 5 big personality traits.

Nutrient Portfolio Prompt/Rubric
Great learning tool for nutrition and nutrient lessons using foldables and interactive notebooks! Allows the students to put their own personal flair to their learning, while encouraging the citing of sources and being organized. At the end, I made mine worth a test grade because of all of the hardwork that went into them.

Taste test lab- normal and substitute goods
This is a lab activity that is great for courses in economics (or home economics!). This lab is a food based "taste test" where you incorporate science with social studies- by having a blind taste test of three different foods (the given categories are cereal, chips and soda- but you can change this).
