This is a one-class webquest activity, or can be used as a homework assignment, to identify different aspect of the cell model, and differences between the cells of plants and animals. The above link goes along nicely with it and will take the students through both cell diagrams.

This is a webquest that forces the students to search through a very nice site, grouped by categories such as travel, clothing, jobs, etc. It could be done in the computer lab, for homework, or in class with laptops or iPads. Great for review before state tests arrive, especially in NY!

Weekly Keyboarding Homework for one quarter
Keyboarding is such an important life skill, yet there is so little time to devote to it!
I designed this homework for one quarter of the school year. We spent an entire quarter learning keyboarding. I introduced new keys and we practiced them in class. Then I assigned this homework. It was given to students in grades 4-6, but could definitely be used in grades 7 and 8.
Believe it or not, parents were extremely appreciative of this homework because they see keyboarding as a need not often well

Online Discussion Instructions
Can be used and modified for any online classroom discussion forum. Designed originally for Blogger, then used for Schoology, then adapted more broadly for Google Classroom. Handout explains the post once, respond twice process, gives students requirements for writing formal writing, ideas for academic/scholarly responses to classmates and model for response. Document also recommends student reply to their responses from classmates so that the conversation is authentic and contains closure.
