Parts of Speech Practice: Create a Menu (Middle School Grammar)
This is one of my favorite real-life application projects that can be completed individually by students or in partners. The Create Your Own Menu project allows students to use their creativity to think of a type of restaurant they would open, name it, and create a menu for it all while practicing specific and vivid nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositional phrases. This quiz is a fun and funny way to get students to realize they need to pay attention to directions.
There is a list of numerous steps to complete, which can actually be fun for students. HOWEVER, the first step says to "read all directions before continuing" and the last step says "only do..." so most students mess this up and do all the steps as they go along.
