This is a great menu allowing students to have a choice of what they are able to work on when they are done with their work. I use it in my classroom to allow students to take responsibility for their learning.

In my classroom, the students have a writing notebook/journal that they keep in their desks. Instead of reading their just right book, every time they finish their work early, they have the option to write. Since I am often working on writing stamina throughout the year, I get excited when I see my students choose to write. The menu has a variety of choices that excite my students. They often want to share their thoughts and entries with the class.
