After several weeks of me choosing the song of the week, the students have a research project where they research song lists and choose their own artist. They study the life of this artist, write a biography, choose a song, and find a grammatical structure that they want us to focus on. Students loved this and I did too since it introduced me to songs that interested the students. It was definitely the project of the year for my 9th graders!
