This is a paper I use with my students for melody reading using the Japanese folk song Sakura. It begins on A and is easily playable on the recorder in A minor pentatonic. Japanese Weather Telling Song and Activity FREEBIE
My third graders absolutely love this song and activity. They are entranced by the story about the young girl in Japan who gets new clogs and then ruins them by playing the Japanese Weather Telling Game.She tries to trick her mom, but in the end, she decides she will never try to trick her mom again.
