Pumpkin Catapult Design Challenge
This fun activity is great as an extension of your energy or physics unit, or as a part of a holiday week! Students do research on what makes a good catapult, cite their sources, and then begin building. I have found that using the candy corn pumpkins and materials like spoons and popsicle sticks are the most useful rather than building a large-scale catapult for a real pumpkin.

Students need to use a grocery store flyer to shop for an entire Thanksgiving meal. Each category has pictures straight from the grocery store flyer. I used Market Basket this week, but almost all of these items are also for sale in Shaws and Stop & Shop, as well. I made it a Word document, so you can easily replace the images if you want!
