Using this lesson and the book "Pokko and the Drum" by Matthew Forsythe, the children can drum along with Pokko as they follow her journey! All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman, published by Alfred A. Knopf. This book was the book for Read for America one year, and the librarian gave me a copy. Mallets 1 are Glockenspiels, Mallets 2 are Alto xylophones and Mallets 3 are the Bass Xylophone, although you could use whatever instruments you have that fit. You could also add any non-pitched percussion to play the beat, or a rhythm obstinate.
