Ta and Ti-Ti Rhythm and Drumming Lesson Using Pokko and the Drum Book

Using this lesson and the book "Pokko and the Drum" by Matthew Forsythe, the children can drum along with Pokko as they follow her journey! Even though the lesson is written to use a frame drum, use any rhythm instruments you have available and modify as you need to. Have the students drum, walk to and decode the chant for an engaging lesson on ta and ti-ti rhythm syllables. Works for either in person or virtual teaching!REMINDERS1. All Are Welcome

All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman, published by Alfred A. Knopf. This book was the book for Read for America one year, and the librarian gave me a copy. Mallets 1 are Glockenspiels, Mallets 2 are Alto xylophones and Mallets 3 are the Bass Xylophone, although you could use whatever instruments you have that fit. You could also add any non-pitched percussion to play the beat, or a rhythm obstinate.
