TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Veteran educator with 12+ years in a classroom. Highly qualified in all subject areas for elementary and middle school grades. I am currently a subject matter expert in K-8 mathematics and middle school ELA, and work as a curriculum and content writer and creator. I have experience as an teacher mentor and instructional coach. I design, develop and deliver professional development for educators and administrators on a variety of topics including instructional strategies, assessment, data tracking and analysis, multi-tiered support, intervention, educational research and more.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Lessons and activities can be modified to be used in traditional, flipped or blended classrooms, in person and virtual models. Lessons, activities, and assessments include strong alignment to national mathematics standards as well as CCSS and TKES with attention to states crosswalks and vertical alignment K-12. I incorporate many best practices including backwards design, UDL, and utilize formative assessment to drive instruction. Opportunities for feedback, intervention, and data collection are throughout all my lessons and activities. All lessons and activities model research-based instructional practices including John Hattie's ratings on student success and the Hess matrix for Webb's DOK and Bloom's taxonomy.
