I have made a weekly skills sheet to be sent home with each child at the beginning of each academic week. This sheet helps communicate to parents what skills their children will be learning each week. Each sheet also lists the spelling words, vocabulary words, and Amazing Words. They are clearly titled with the story title, unit, and week.

I have taken the spelling lists from an older reading series (Trophies) to create adapted spelling lists for my self-contained classroom. I found that I was having trouble finding a way to work with students of all grades with varying abilities. I have all students work through these lists regardless of their grade level.
