Measurements in Cooking
I made this lesson for my high school Life Skills Math class. This class is made includes students with learning disabilities. This lesson begins with common cooking measurement abbreviations. Then, asks students to double a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe. Next, students must figure out how to use only one ingredient for one measuring tool and use each measuring tool only once. This is a fun lesson with an edible reward at the end.

I used these notes and examples for math intervention. The flowchart utilizes the rules of adding and subtracting positive and negative fractions and decimals. It really helped these struggling kiddos keep organized in their work and not miss a step!
The examples are very short (two for fractions, two for decimals). I supplemented the lesson by having them work in pairs on problems from our textbook.

Factoring (list of factors 1-100)
This teacher tool is a list of the factors for every number from 1 to 100. Students often generate an incomplete list when finding factors. This tool makes it easy for a teacher to tell students how many factors they are looking for. Instead of saying, "Find all the factors of 36," the teacher can say, "Find the nine factors of 36."
