TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have just completed my 9th year teaching! I am currently teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 (Advanced Algebra). I have taught the High School Algebra I class to 8th Graders. In addition to teaching the Algebra I class I have also taught 6th grade math, 8th Grade Science and the high school Physical Science class. Prior to my most recent middle school experience, I taught fifth grade Mathematics, Science and Social Studies for four years. My first year of teaching I had the privilege of teaching resource Special Education, all subjects, in a middle school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I want my students to fall in love with learning! I aim to introduce my students to whatever content I am teaching in an engaging and exploratory way. I challenge my students to be the best student they can be and work hard to make learning hands on and fun! Additionally, I research the most recent trends in learning and do my best to prepare my students so they are well prepared to go into the work force and/or college!

In 2016 I was given the honor of being the teacher of the year for the Claxton Upper Elementary School. This past year, I was given the honor of representing my school at GLISI, Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a bachelors of science in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southern University. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University.
