"Party Through the Decades" Research Project
This is a great cooperative group or even independent research project for Social Studies! What a great way to wrap up the school year or just challenge some Gifted and Talented Students throughout the year. All the while learning about history, pop culture, economics, and trends of our history. They end with a fun party incorporating historical events and people of the decade, as well as, trends in fashion, music, foods, and the entire culture of the decade!

About My Hood - How to Make a Relief Print of a City Street
Looking at two artists, young Lauren Halsey from LA and well-known Romare Bearden from Harlem, students will be inspired to create their own piece of art about their neighborhood. This lesson teaches how to make a simple relief print. Students will create a series of prints to make a horizontal depiction of a city street. Immigration Book Club and Choice Menu Project
As I was taking AIG courses through my school district, I completed this unit that I am currently using with my students. Students first complete book clubs or literature circles (however you want to structure this part) and then complete projects related to immigration issues on a choice board.
