Bill Nye: Fossils

This Paper can be versatile by allowing you to use it as a companion piece to Bill Nye as a study guide or a test. The accommodation of the word bank can also help students who have trouble spelling or help finding an answer. Even the answer key can be a great study guide for students who struggle with writing speed or comprehension. In this model I have included a Kahoot that has been adjusted 3 different ways. I would always encourage you to randomize your answers to keep your kiddos guessing.

Mutations and the Human Life Cycle

Created by
Biology Buff
I wanted a worksheet/information sheet that showed students where and when mutations occur in the human life cycle. I wanted them to see where mitosis and meiosis occur and where certain types of mutations occur. This is the right amount of detail for honors or AP Biology but might be a little too much for CP Biology depending on your students. I know that the NGSS wants us to provide the students with rigor, so I thought this would be good.

Kinds of Human Tissue

This is a re-make of an older version. I have added more tissue types under the 4 main categories of human tissue and have included questions with an answer key. The drawings were done with more precision. I think it's a good introduction to tissues and there is room to make it even more detailed if the teacher wishes to expound on certain tissue types.

Notebooking DNA's Structure

This is how to have students create folds in their journals to learn/reinforce the structure of DNA. This will actively involve the students in organizing the information as they describe the 4 different bases & also examine the components of DNA's backbone (phosphate and deoxyribose sugar). In the 2nd half of the activity, they'll summarize how nucleotides, DNA, genes, chromosomes and other terms relate to one another. Notebooking information in this way really seems to help my students
