So, at some point or another, we've all learned how to divide a fraction. However, many of us barely remember it, while some might remember that it has something to do with "flip & multiply." What if we focused on why we do what we do when we divide fractions? That's what this video is meant to do. Suitable for kids & adults, it shows you not only how to divide fractions, but what's really going on when we perform the algorithm. Enjoy!
Lesson 6 consists of providing you with a Self-Tutorial on all about fractions. This lesson is different from the previous ones in that the use of printed Notes is integrated with the Video (other Notes may be used independently of the videos). This lesson is VERY detailed and covers the necessary areas to help students review the many aspects of fractions and fraction conversions. I also show you how to perform all the many different fraction operations and conversions using the TI-84+ Graphing
"Kuku" (nine-nine) is a Japanese method of memorizing multiplication tables by using a rhythmic chant. Students in Japan start memorizing their multiplication facts beginning with the 5′s & 2′s because they are easiest to understand, followed by 3′s & 4′s, 6′s & 7′s, 8′s & 9′s, and finally 1′s. Japanese Kuku does not go higher than the 9′s. However, students can easily continue this same rhythmic chant pattern to continue memorizing up to 12×12 or 15x15.
