Parts of a Seed
Use this page to teach students the parts of a seed. Soak fresh seeds (We used lima beans) in water until they absorb water, the seed coat starts to come off, and they start to split open. Should take several hours. Students will each get their own seed and will be able to identify each part on their seed. They will tape each part of their seed to the bottom of their paper.

I used this 1 page activity with small groups of two students. The students roll the dice to fill in the mixed number fraction boxes and then they worked through completing the calculations. Student groups can also trade their sheet with another group for calculation completion. Fraction by whole number division activity using dominoes - dice, 5.NF.B.7a
This is a one page activity that uses dominoes to create the fraction and a dice to determine the whole number. I completed this activity with groups of two students. I had the partners fill in the sheet and then trade it with a fellow group who solved the problems.
