Parts of a Seed
Use this page to teach students the parts of a seed. Soak fresh seeds (We used lima beans) in water until they absorb water, the seed coat starts to come off, and they start to split open. Should take several hours. Students will each get their own seed and will be able to identify each part on their seed. They will tape each part of their seed to the bottom of their paper.

We use it specifically from year 4 - year 6 to consolidate children’s knowledge of times tables and multiplcation.It is good to use when skip counting, or going through times tables with children. Capture the Flag is a math game for 3rd-5th grade students learning/enhancing their basic 0-12 multiplication facts. Also, through game play, students will be working on structuring numbers, adding, and subtracting.
My classroom loves it!
Teachers: I recommend printing and taping the four boards together so the flags for each are in the middle. Also I laminated mine so they can be wiped clean and played for years to come!

When I made the books I copied the cover on construction paper. Then I copied the set of equations and cut them in 2 and then staple on the left hand side the construction paper cover and back. This cuts down on copies. I try to copy all of the covers for the different multiples on different colored construction

Ordering Numbers In The Thousands Flowers
Flowers Ordering Numbers Least to Greatest Task Cards in the 1,000s has a spring theme. You may also have students order the cards from greatest to least (answer key shows least to greatest). Perfect to use with a place value unit. The booklet includes the facts 1-12 as well as a blank page for practicing any fact or fluency competition among students to see who can fill out the page on a particular fact the fastest.
