This is a visual of a general prompt hierarchy to display in the classroom. Prompts are ordered in terms of their degree of intrusiveness with full physical prompts described as most intrusive. This visual is a useful reminder for staff and a quick way to provide information to substitutes and other adults coming into the classroom to work with students. Each of the prompts has an abbreviation for use when taking data.

For a child that is a bit older, a visual explicitly showing them the steps to toileting can be a bit embarrassing or 'too young'.Here we have a bit of a cheeky and fun visual to place on the wall opposite the toilet. Children learn to regulate their actions through language.
