Songs of the Enlightenment! Which Enlightenment Philosopher would sing it?
Students listen to songs be modern artists from Youtube, and try to figure out which philosopher's message goes along with the song!
Very fun, good way to incorporate music into the classroom and to change things up!

We Didn't Start the Fire
I use this checklist for "We Didn't Start the Fire" as an introduction to the Cold War. I have students go through and check off events/people/etc. that they recognize while watching the music video for Billy Joel's song. I use the video that has images with each item on the list. I also have students write the year that one grandparent and one parent/guardian was born before starting. Snow Man Hokey Pokey!
This product is good for teaching positon words to your students in a fun and interactive way! I allow for each of my students to decorate their own snowman. When they are done decorating I collect them.
When it's time to sing and dance I then pass their snowman out and ask for them to sing along and follow the instructions of the song!

American Revolution Parody, Henry VIII Parody, and Parody Song Project
This is the perfect activity for the hands-on history class ready to flex their creative muscles. Students will see (and hopefully hear) a parody of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" and Bruno Mar's "When I Was Your Man". The first parody is about Henry VIII describing all of his problems with his six wives. The second parody is about a remorseful King George III singing about the loss of the 13 Colonies.
