TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a certified K-6 teacher with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. I have 15 overall years of experience, with 8 of those years spent teaching 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies, and 6 of those years of experience teaching fourth grade Language Arts and Social Studies. One magical year in between was spent teaching 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies completely virtual through our district's Virtual Academy. I am a certified Apple Teacher from a 1:1 Apple device school, which is also an Apple Distinguished School. I have created activities for many years to use in class, and also created online curriculum courses for my subject areas while teaching virtually, so I am very comfortable with the implementation of technology. I also worked as a graduate assistant while earning my masters degree in the Education Department at my University assisting in creating the online coursework for my attached professor. I have experience participating in my districts curriculum planning team, which wrote the scope and sequence and instructional guides for our districts grade level subjects. I have experience with behavioral programs such as PBIS, RCD, and the RCA House System and have been trained in each approach. I currently serve as my school's house leader for the best house- Rêveur!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love interactive notebooks and differentiating instruction. I always plan several activities for each class period so there is never a chance to get bored! I am on the hunt for new techniques and strategies all the time! Technology gives me life! As a 1:1 district, I am constantly creating new and exciting ways to teach my subjects via technology and our available apps!
