Radio Station Project
At the end of each school year the music students and I create a Radio Station Project as a way to advertise for our school and community. Middle School students love creating ads for the businesses around our community. The rest of the school get to create talk shows, add in a weather forecast, create music beds, and sing songs. The files are in PDF form and PPTX for editing to your needs. This has been a success at my school for quite a while! i hope you find it fun as well.

With "Justin Bieber fever" being so contagious in my 5th grade classroom, I decided to make new words to Bieber's popular "Boyfriend" song. The lyrics are fast moving and review the concept of erosion. It was a big hit in my classroom. Even the "Bieber haters" were converted. We sang along with the YouTube. Students are tasked with creating a playlist by selecting songs that fit the desired mood. Once students have selected songs, they must also justify why that song fits the mood of their playlist. Can be a short and effective assignment to teach mood to students as well as linking text (lyrics) to a general topic.
