Technology Curriculum Overview - Mr and Mrs Rooster

    Description

Middle school and high school students LOVE these lessons! We developed these lessons to be as engaging for ALL students whether they have a little or a lot of technology or STEM experience. Our curriculum works great with any Project-Based Learning style or the STEM-Familiar instruction. Everything you need is packed into this complete bundle! No need to print, but we do offer that option as well. That said, we do give you the option to have as much or as little instruction time. You can use our simple copy and paste directions with select video tutorials, or you can take the lead and adapt if so desired. Either way, you will have the materials to help engage your students and create the best working environment for them!

Our STEM and Technology lessons will have students eager to come to class and we often have many students using our tools and resources long after the assignment has been turned in! Our web-based curriculum presents the work in fun, open-ended activities with certain goals to be made. It really lets your students shine with their interests and preferences and requires no extra physical materials!

    Made for use with:

PC, Mac, Chromebook, or Tablet (with keyboard for proper typing.)

All resources are organized for assigning through Google Classroom!

Ready-to-post directions make these lessons a BREEZE assigning and preparing. Using Google Classroom, you may never need to PRINT again! If you are limited on technology or lacking a class website, we have provided printable directions so students can follow along as well!

We have 41+ Ready-to-Post Technology Lesson Plans that will cover your full year of teaching technology with hundreds more activities and detailed lessons with copy and paste student directions! Check the preview to see what to expect!

In Set 1, students will use professional websites to create music, logos, floor plans, animation, and will research Snapchat and the latest eco car! These are sure-fire ways to get your students engaged in technology without the hesitation.

In Set 2, students will design 3D objects, word clouds, create custom memes, link up hypertexts, research Instagram's privacy policy, and guide their classmates on Google Maps as a personal GPS!

In Set 3, students will create online stick figure animations, create a hyperlink image collage about themselves, research and present on topics of the internet and an independent project of interest. Students will also compare and contrast the latest phones based on specific criteria, and learn the fundamentals of keyboarding and technique.

The Beginning of the Year Curriculum has 9 lesson plans and TONS of resources to get you on the right track! This resource starts the year off strong so you can enjoy your time teaching and making connections with less time testing and planning. This is the kick-starter to our FULL-YEAR Middle School Technology Curriculum!

In the Google Maps Unit, you and your students will explore the earth using Google Maps, Google Earth, Google My Maps, Street View, Ocean View, Sky and Space View, Time-Travel, Historical Timeline, Sunlight Model, Flight Mode, and go on an Address Hunt using specific addresses, coordinates, and country geographics! They can even find a school that is in the shape of the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars!

The Hypertext and Hyperlink Unit will have students learn how the very websites they use contain both hypertext and hyperlinks and create their own! This unit includes 3 lessons where students will create an "All about me" Google Doc, with a matching "All about me" Image Collage Google Slide, and finishes with a professional interactive Travel Brochure Google Slide. Lesson plans, video tutorials and all templates included.

Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Solve problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions by using information presented in line plots. For example, from a line plot find and interpret the difference in length between the longest and shortest specimens in an insect collection.
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.
Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., 𝘹-axis and 𝘹-coordinate, 𝘺-axis and 𝘺-coordinate).
Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
