This is a good project to bring in real life models to review geometry as well as measurement for perimeter and area. I use this closer to the end of the year and give students multiple weeks to finish assignment. You can also modify this by changing some of the requirements for special education students as well as add more challenging skills required for those higher students.

Plants-Order by Size and Life Cycle of a Plant
I created this little freebie to help my students understand the life of a plant and work in our math skill ordering by size!
I cut them out before class and together we ordered them in the pocket chart. Then students got to color cut them and order them by size on chart paper. They did a great job! If you like this please check out my Little Brown Seeds Shared Reading poem. They go great together!
