What's in a Name - Research Assignment
Hello Teachers!
I created this assignment, homework, and/or project for my third grade class this year. It all revolves around what our names mean. Students will interview their parent/guardians and learn answers to the following questions:
- Why did our parents give us our name?
- What does my name actually mean and where does it come from?
Once students have that information, students will write two detailed paragraphs on the back of the paper:
- 1st Paragraph: Explaining what the name means

Unique Fingerprints
Let students stamp their fingers onto a washable stamp pad and stamp their fingerprint on the page. Add a magnifying glass to let them look up close at their unique fingerprints.
