Sight Word fluency practice EDITABLE Big Bubble breath boxes
Increase fluency by working on big bubble breath boxes.
Editable document allows you to put in sight words, number words, color words, letters, numbers, or even sentences in to the breath boxes.
Students are instructed to take a deep breath and get ready to blow a bubble while they read all of the words/phrases in one box. Eventually as fluency rate increases, student can read two to three boxes in one breath.

I use these around my room depending on the station and what my goal is for my students to discuss with each other. A lot of time it also helps students to get started with their verbal explanations. Synonym Match Cards (+context clues!) - Find Partners/Pairs Game
This product contains 20 pairs of synonym cards (40 words total.) Each card has the word as well as the word in context.
There are several options for how to use these cards:

Here is an activitiy I use in my Kindergarten Library center. This is a great way to have the students do a quick journal type of activity of what they are reading. I put this in their literacy station folders to do each week. I even change what is supposed to be drawn according to what I am teaching. ( For example, draw a setting from the story you read)

This product includes a publisher file with two pamphlets. One is a pamphlet convincing its reader to become a patriot during revolutionary times. The other is convincing its reader to become a loyalist. These could be used as examples for students to view to create their own, for students to create speeches with, to use as a visual in a lesson, or anything else that you can dream up! Looking for a way to get your kids up and out of the seats but keep them engaged in spelling practice? Place these cards around the room, and have the students can walk around with clipboards, recording each word as they find a card. Keep the word list handy in case they are not sure of a picture.
This particular set practices spelling plural nouns with an s ending. It uses only short vowel words so that even struggling spellers can practice this skill.
