Description

Snowflake graphing with four styles of snow flakes and three sizes graphs for each. Document made in Microsoft Publisher. Graphs can be sized to own needs/preferences. Each snowflake has an "answer" provided as well. Students can complete the graph using manipulatives (sequins, rhinestones/gems, pony beads, hole punch snowflake, hole punch circles, etc.) glued into given coordinates. Students can also color in the blocks with various colors to form the snowflake using the coordinates. Additional idea: place a transparency over the graph paper and secure with tape or a paper clip. Have students glue manipulatives into place using given coordinates. The transparency can be taken away and the snowflake can be cut out and used on a window or bulletin board. Great activity to address mathematics concepts. In addition, this activity addresses visual motor integration, oculomotor/visual tracking skills, fine motor control, grasp development, and finger/hand strengthening. Place the materials on a vertical surface for the added benefit of wrist extension and proximal (shoulder) strengthening. Made for students receiving Occupational Therapy services but good for classwork as well.
