This is a visual to support the learning of the "Sleigh Ride Hand Jive" shown in You Tube clips. It was used to help students with autism to learn the routine, but will help anyone learning to do the jive with the song. Spring Theme Recorder Warm-up with Recordings - Elementary Music - Pitches AGE
This is a quick and simple recorder warm-up I use for reinforcing reading pitches AGE. Each page has a short melody written on the music staff and a recording of the melody. There are two levels to this: Level 1 - students can look at the letter names written below the pitches; Level 2 - teacher can ask students to play the melody without seeing the letter names, or they can reveal the letter names as the class discusses by clicking on the hummingbird picture.

Rhythm Connect Four Game
This is a fun way for students to practice reading rhythm patterns, and to reinforce the concept of four-beat patterns. Show on the smart board and have the whole class play in teams, or have smaller groups of students play as a music centers game.
This game is played just like a real Connect Four game, as students drag and drop colored chips into spaces on a board. Once a player or team gets four in a row, they have to read the rhythm pattern correctly for it to count as a win!
