I am a retired teacher with 33 years of experience in the classroom. I have had the opportunity to teach all grade levels and subject areas except the senior math and sciences. I have taught both single grade and multi-grade classrooms. I have a passion for learning and sharing with others. I promote a structured, safe, and caring learning environment. I hope to help teachers create positive learning environments in their classrooms through best practice, meeting kids where they are at, and encouraging high expectations.
I adapted my teaching style to the needs and abilities of my students. I believe in hands on activities, but recognize the importance of structured learning with drill and practice. I used the "I do, we do, you do" learning approach. I believe in providing students with opportunities to become leaders of their learning and teaching them the mindset for lifelong learning!
