Saskatchewan Health Bundle for Grade 3 and 4 Split Class Instruction

In this Saskatchewan Health Bundle are two done for you unit plans that will cover all your Health curriculum outcomes! These unit resources contain everything you need to instruct your grade 3/4 split grade classroom. Common indicators have been combined to make instruction flow smoothly between grade levels. Activities are differentiated to reach both grade levels. A rubric for assessing learning in each lesson is included in both units. Action planning has been incorporated for students to apply learning!

Making Informed Decisions:
Goal #2: Make informed decisions based on health-related knowledge

Students will learn about the decisions they make and how their decisions affect those around them.
They will learn how to make positive and informed decisions for themselves and decisions that are helpful to others. They will also understand harmful decisions and practice saying “No” to decisions that can harm them or others. Finally, they will understand both positive and negative consequences and how to predict them.

What it Means to Be Healthy

Goal #1: Develop the understanding skills, and confidences necessary to take action to improve health.

Goal #3: Apply decisions that will improve personal health and or the health of others.

Students will learn about investigating health knowledge and information to understand and share what it means to be healthy. The Unit can be split into 3 sections : Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, and Healthy Environment. Within each section students will gather information, participate in activities, and assess their understanding of topics related to understanding, skills, and confidences in developing a healthy mindset, a healthy body, and maintaining a healthy environment.
