I taught high school science for 5 years, and then moved six hours south to become an Assistant Principal at a K-5 elementary school. After 3 years as an AP, I moved to a Principal position in 2015, and have been in this role since. Besides being a Principal, I am a wife and mother of three great kiddos and one crazy dog. In my spare time, I enjoy painting, and maintain an Etsy store for my artwork.
I practice the philosophies taught in the Capturing Kids' Hearts program. I believe in nurturing relationships with my staff and students, while also holding others accountable to high standards of behavior and academic achievement. I believe that EVERYONE can learn something, and that we only grow when we are willing to be a little uncomfortable.
H-E-B Excellence in Education Nominee for Early Childhood, 2017; National Showcase School for Capturing Kids Hearts, 2018, 2019 and 2020; Region 3 Representative for the TEA Title I Committee of Practitioners, 2021 and 2022
