I have about 9 years of experience teaching early childhood education, outdoor education (summer enrichment), university courses, and high school. I have been active in activism and community organizing throughout my life, and see education as a form of community organizing (empowering students to better their communities).
My top value is culturally sustaining pedagogy and restorative justice.
In addition to teaching, I am an award-winning filmmaker and am humbled to have received the following awards for my work: - 2020 Loni Ding Award for Social Justice Film - 2021 Justice On Trial Film Festival Best Short Documentary - 2021 Viet Film Fest Spotlight Award
- B.S. in Education, Northwestern University - M.A. in Asian American Studies, University of California, Los Angeles - M.A. in Teaching, San Jose State University
