Description

This product optimizes the film Zootopia as a tool for students to discuss stereotypes and race. It would fit well in an ethnic studies class in a unit on identity. While the film offers comedic relief and strong messages about friendship, it also dives deep into topics like race, stereotypes, and power. This lesson pushes students to utilize critical thinking discover these deep messages in the film.

  1. Define stereotype and stereotype threat.
  2. Explain the biological construct of race and how and why it was used.
  3. Apply knowledge of stereotype, stereotype, and biological construct of race to the film Zootopia.
