I have a multisensory, communicative approach to English-language teaching. Children learn through seeing, hearing, feeling, speaking and experiencing. Children often have a preferred learning stlyes and thus it is important to stimulate as many senses as possible in our teaching. In 2002 I graduated with a BA in Modern Foreign Languages from Sheffield University. I trained to teach French & German at secondary level and was awarded my Post Gradate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Lancaster University in 2005/6.
I was born in Devon, England and moved to Austria in 2006 for love. I have three children who are growing up bilingually. Since living in Austria I have been teaching English as a second language to kindergarten kids up to adult level. Although I trained to teach French & German, the principals of language acquistion and methodology are the same for any language. Three years ago I started writing rhyming picture books and accompanying teaching resources. I believe in teaching language in context. I also understand the importance of rhyme for promoting memorisation of language and improving literacy.
