This is a simple version of the story of Squanto, to the best of my knowledge, after some research into the “true story of the first Thanksgiving.” I wanted to share a simple version of it for history students. The full history of this time period is much longer, and much more complicated, but hopefully this provides a glimpse of the life of a Native American who, to me, was a hero, and honors him for his contribution to our history.
