Equivalent Fractions - General Understanding and Practice - Level 1 - FREE
Equivalent Fractions:
1.) Visual practice sheet - equal areas...
Students must realize that these two fractions are the SAME SIZE CIRCLES and GRIDS. That they are equivalent in shaded areas on each fraction.
I recommend to circle back and review every week for a month...quick review...reminder on equal areas...so there is sufficient repetition for students to ingrain a visual understanding of equivalent fractions.

Multiplication Facts - Perfect Squares - Via Area Models (FREE)
This is a different way for kiddos to learn math facts - multiplication math facts.
It also teaches a physical model, so they are not memorizing unconnected facts when using the AREA model. Besides, kiddos should KNOW the term 'Perfect Squares' and its physical meaning...it will help them when they learn the Pythagorean Theorem and Quadratics in middle school, or should anyway.

Hopefully, they have learned their math facts...and they reduce the fractions to simplest form...and then check to make sure that the GCF is 1 on the reduced fraction. "One and Done - LT Confirmed" is the expression we used at Graham so the student checked that the GCF was 1...and the REDUCED FRACTION was in Lowest terms.
