This activity teaches us that beauty contests go beyond what we standardly consider "beauty" - the Miss Cholita pageant "does not feature bikinis, but rather indigenous women who wear the traditional dress of wide skirt, bowler hat and long plaited hair." Spanish 3 and 4: Famous Scientist Paper Cut, Research and Present Same Day
I put a bunch of scientists on a random wheel here: Wheel of Names so that no two students choose the same scientist. Then the student will draw make a paper cut design on the left and describe some basic facts about their life on the right. Paper cut designs are similar to South Park (NOT that I suggest watching South Park in school, it's just an example!). Each element needs to be cut out and glued using construction paper.
