Multi-Step Directions Notes and Practice
This resource includes a step by step breakdown on how to answer multi-step directions with an informational text example. Students will then complete two practice prompts based on informational texts (read the excerpt and prompt, number the parts of the prompt, underline/highlight key words in the each part, and complete a written response). The Worry Mountain: A Back to School Activity
The Worry Mountain activity provides students with an opportunity to self-monitor, and prioritize events/activities that cause them to worry by pairing them with activities/thoughts that are the most calming. Main idea, details, vocabulary... A wonderful game with the game board in English and Spanish. This game can also be used for many other comprehension objectives. This mini-lesson really makes a difference in student's thinking and test scores. For the lower grades this is meant to be done orally to help oral language development.

This is a compilation of visual recipes put together for a special needs classroom. It is on a word document and there are 6 different simple recipes which includes: popcorn, oatmeal, grilled cheese, easy mac, a bagel, and a bologna sandwich. Fun with Homonyms (English and Spanish)
Students are given homonym pair cards. They are to make a riddle using both for others to solve. There really isn't a grade level attached to this because kids need phonics at all grade levels in order to read. The great thing about this is that if you lose one picture all you have to do is print out just that sheet. Laminate the directions (icon driven for those students who have difficulty reading) and you're ready to go! All Spanish activities and pictures are indicated with a yellow dot
