Irish Small Group Reader's Theater Pack
In a world where reading is pushed so hard on students that many are losing their love of reading it is IMPORTANT to give them opportunities to read that are fun. Reader's Theater does this. In this package I have placed 6 Reader's Theaters. Each one has been written for Saint Patrick's Day but can be formed at any time. Reading Status Check-In: A Google Resource
Looking for a digital way to check-in with your students' independent reading daily? I've created a Google Form that does just that! Simply post the link to the survey in your learning management system of choice and quickly get data in the form of a spreadsheet about the following items:
-student choice book title
-current page number
-whether they plan on abandoning, have finished, still reading, or yet to begin the book they are reading

This reader's theater was written for 5 people. It is the Irish version of Cinderella and we are using it for Saint Patrick's Day. There are three sisters. Their names are Fair, Brown, and Trembling. Trembling is the youngest sister and the most beautiful. Fair and Brown want to be married and do not dare let anyone see Trembling. When they go to Mass each week, they insist on leaving Trembling home. One day a hen wife helps Trembling get a beautiful dress and slippers and sends her to Mass. Eve

Narrative Writing - Book Trailer Project
This is a digital storytelling project in which students create a trailer for a novel they have read. Student access to computers or iPads is required. Common Core aligned. I hang the posters around the room and give each student a sticky note. They write their name on the sticky note and move it as they complete each step. This gives me and the students a quick visual of where everyone is and who needs a little nudging or assistance in order to move on.

Not Every Rainbow has a Pot of Gold - Reader's Theater
This reader's Theater is for a small group of four students. It is about the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and I use it for Saint Patrick's Day. The children see a rainbow and Elizabeth wants them to go look for the pot of gold at the end. Thomas doesn’t believe in fairies, leprechauns, and pots of gold but Marty and Melanie aren’t sure. The Three Wishes - Small Group Reader's Theater
This reader's theater was created for four students. I have used this script with my third graders but it was for a higher group. This script is used around Saint Patrick's Day and involves a leprechaun. A leprechaun appears out of nowhere to grant Sally, Pat, and Brian three wishes in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day.
