Reading Status Check-In: A Google Resource
Looking for a digital way to check-in with your students' independent reading daily? I've created a Google Form that does just that! Simply post the link to the survey in your learning management system of choice and quickly get data in the form of a spreadsheet about the following items:
-student choice book title
-current page number
-whether they plan on abandoning, have finished, still reading, or yet to begin the book they are reading
-whether or not they are looking for a book recommendat

Narrative Writing - Book Trailer Project
This is a digital storytelling project in which students create a trailer for a novel they have read. Student access to computers or iPads is required. Common Core aligned. I hang the posters around the room and give each student a sticky note. They write their name on the sticky note and move it as they complete each step. This gives me and the students a quick visual of where everyone is and who needs a little nudging or assistance in order to move on.

Bitmoji Bookmark Project
The purpose of this project is to encourage kids to check out books that they may not have considered in the past. They will also get to know the names and faces of the classmates in the classroom or building.
