This is such a great research project after students have learned about genetics, DNA, and mutations. It ties in all of the curriculum and makes it real life. The students love diving into the the "medical worlds" and gives them a sense of professionalism as they present. This comes with an Excel spreadsheet that I couldn't attach to this, so its a free resource on my shop. It has list of genetic disorders that students can choose from. I draw names and let the students pick so it is fair. *Edit

Genetic Counselor - Heredity Project
This is a research project where students are to research a genetic disease. Students will describe how this disease effects their lives and how it occurs. This can be done in pairs or alone. There is a detailed scenario given as to why they will be researching a particular disease. Rubric and peer/self reflection is included.

Mitosis Task - Curing Cancer
