Every year, students on my caseload share their self-advocacy brochure with teachers and staff. It helps them with communicating information about their hearing loss and accommodations. The headings on the brochure can be edited so it is specific to your student, along with the information on each page. I included my student's brochure as an example. Kids of all ages love printing out a copy for each of their teachers, writing their name on it and handing it off in the beginning of the year.

Magic Treehouse: Lions at Lunchtime Webquest
This webquest on the Magic Treehouse book about an African adventure includes skills like compare and contrast, making predictions, and summarizing. It gives students a chance to do individual or small-group research using the links provided throughout the chapters, and can be used as enrichment during center time. I take mine to a print shop (Fed Ex, Kinkos, Office Max, etc.) and have it printed and mounted on foamboard, making for a poster that you can use for many years to come.
