Students are asked to analyze an article using rhetorical appeals (ethos, logos, pathos), determine the author's stance, unpack a prompt, and write an introduction paragraph to an essay. This can be used for an article of the week. For AP Lang, this can be used with an Op Ed, or used to prep students for AP Lang. I have also used it as a study guide for upcoming nonfiction essay prompts.
