This classroom lesson and activity requires students to use geography skills to investigate the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Students will be asked to investigate the reasons the patch exists, and answer the questions of why this is a problem and how humans can solve the problem. Students will need to investigate the topic, analyze the issue, and then formulate solutions that could be used to solve the public policy issue of the garbage patch.Includes: lesson plan, reading, analyzation handout
