Fantasy Vacation Internet Research Project
This lesson plan was designed to increase the computer literacy and internet research skills of 7th and 8th grade English Language Learners with very little experience with computers. Students use the internet to schedule a flight, hotel, transportation and visits to attractions within a two-week time span. Students must carefully budget their expenses. Go Fish customizable smartboard review game
Easily add your own questions and answers to create a fun, interactive review game for any grade or subject. Have teams alternate answering questions verbally or on whiteboards. If they get it right, add a point to that team. They then tap on another fish to select the next question for the opposite team. Move the fishbowl over questions that have been used if you don't want to repeat questions.

Interactive Attendance for Smartboard
This attendance sheet for the Smartboard uses sandals and a bucket. As students enter the classroom they drag their sandals into the bucket so we can easily see who is absent. To change the names under the sandals simply click on the picture, click the arrow, click 'ungroup' and then delete the name that is already there. Systems of Equations and Inequalities Review
I used these questions to review for a Systems of Equations and Inequalities Test. I gave the students index cards and had them write the question on the front and answers on the back. At the end of the class, they could quiz each other.
Alternatively, you could give the students whiteboards and have them hold up their answers after an allotted amount of time.

Centers/Stations Template
This is a very handy organizer and visual to use when doing centers in your classroom. I got the idea from my mentoring teacher and brought it to my classroom last year. Since ELA is such a complex class and often concentrated to fit the 90 minute time frame, I break my centers up into 3 days. That allows the students to get more time in each center. I spend the last 30 minutes of class doing 2 rounds of 15 minutes, but you can set the timer as you please.

Landscape with the Fall of Icarus - Notebook File
After viewing the Jim Henson Storyteller's version of the Daedalus and Icarus myth, students view Bruegel's painting "Landscape of the Fall of Icarus" (although some experts now doubt that the painting was created by Bruegel...) and read the poem by William Carlos Williams inspired by the painting. This activity is part of a unit on Greek mythology and also includes a Smartboard file with the painting and some basic questions included to generate discussion.
