153 Conversation starter cards (2 sets) - great for social skills / conversation

This packet includes 2 different conversation starter card sets. - SET 1 contains 60 cards that was included in the original product line. - SET 2 contains 93 cards that are also part of my Social Skills Group Curriculum that is available in my store. I figured I should include these cards here in addition to the old set because I like them better and they are easier on the ink :). I am also adding a blank page for Set 2 so that you can create your own cards. The cards in the two sets are ma

Leveled Debate Speech Writing Templates and Outline

This is for students who are completely new to debates. It is geared towards elementary students but could also be used by EFL/ESL students who are trying to learn debate. While these resources do not follow a debate fully, it helps familiarize them with a debate so that later, they can do full-on debates. There are four levels, increasing with a little more difficulty each time. The last two levels require students to come up with a rebuttal. There are two editions of each level. One is blank,

Hi-Point
When asked what play they wanted to perform, the kids told me “Moana!” So, this is a simplified stage play script for a story based around Disney’s Moana movie. The story and language have been simplified for young primary school kids. This play was performed live on stage by a group of about 40 English as a Foreign Language (EFL / ESL) students, who ranged from grade 1 up to grade 6, at a school event in south-east Asia in front of a large audience. The play lasts around 30 minutes on stage. The

Your students will love acting and watching their peers act out these examples of idioms. There are enough skits to cover the alphabet! Answer sheets are included with two options. For your early learners, use the color sets with answer sheets that identify the idiom. Students simply match the idiom to the meaning. For older students or for review, use the whole set of skits with the answer sheet that students fill in. My favorite part of this set is the handout that has other language's equival

This reader's theater is for a small group of three students. It was written for Easter. In the script, there are only a few days left until Easter but two reporters have been granted an interview. However, as they talk with the Easter Bunny, it becomes clear that all he thinks about is eggs and all he can say begins with EGGS. I write these scripts for small groups to help with fluency. When the group is small, they don't waste time sitting around waiting for their turn and get more time actua

It is a twist on the Princess and the Pea. When performing these, my students compare and contrast the original story and then these two using a Venn Diagram. The moral in these stories deals with when a person should get married and why but it is also meant to be funny. The reason I rewrote the story twice is that I

Learn more about grammar resources

Grammar is the study of the rules and structures that govern language. It encompasses a multitude of elements, including parts of speech, sentence structure, vocabulary, punctuation, and much more. With a strong grasp of grammar, students can make their writing stronger, clearer, and more effective.

Initially, students will learn about the parts of speech, like nouns, verbs, and adjectives. As they progress in their learning, they’ll explore things like irregular verbs and how to construct intricate sentences, phrases, and clauses.

If you’re a teacher or parent looking for printable and digital resources to help your student learn grammar, but you’re not sure where to start, TPT has got you covered. We’ve got a comprehensive collection of grammar resources, created by other teachers, that are designed to help with any need across grade levels — whether you're teaching grammar to 2nd graders or 11th graders. With plenty of TPT resources at your fingertips, you can make a grammar expert out of your students in no time.

Fun and engaging grammar activities to try

You can teach grammar effectively and engage your students at the same time, with a variety of activities and techniques that cater to different learning styles and preferences. Here are a few examples of the different types of activities that you can find on TPT to help teach students about key grammatical concepts.

Sentence Diagramming & Building

Help students see the relationships between words, phrases, and clauses by having them break down sentences into visual diagrams. Or, help them understand sentence structure by giving them a set of words or phrases and having them construct grammatically correct sentences.

Grammar Word Search

Use word search puzzles to have students locate words that relate to a specific grammar concept (for example, you could have students search for adjectives).

Grammar Bingo

This is a great way to engage the whole class and reinforce a grammar concept your students are learning. Simply call out various grammar rules, sentence examples, or parts of speech, and have students mark the corresponding grammar rule (or error!).

Escape Rooms

Using an escape room-style activity, students can solve grammar puzzles to "escape" within a given time limit. They’re also great for providing children with the opportunity to showcase everything they've learned with a competitive element.

Grammar Quizzes

Regular quizzes can reinforce learning, test students’ mastery of grammar, and help track their progress over time.

These (and other!) activities can help deepen your students’ appreciation for grammar and enhance their creative writing skills.
