    Description

Stop! You've found it, a wonderful set of five of Shakespeare's finest plays. Introduce your class to the greatest hero of the English language and give them a performance experience they'll never forget. These original adaptations have been written in kid friendly language retaining the irresistible excitement of the Bard's stories and will become a favorite of your students now and for years to come.

    The 5 plays included are:

    Shakespeare’s Macbeth, abridged adaptation

Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night's Dream, abridged adaptation

    Shakespeare’s Hamlet, abridged adaptation

    Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, abridged adaptation

    Shakespeare’s The Tempest, abridged adaptation

These plays are intended to be used as part of your language arts program.

    • Simplified language allows all students to understand, and enjoy Shakespeare.

    • Great for ELD.

    • Even young students love Shakespeare and will ask to practice it.

    • Creates true cultural literacy.

    • Practicing throughout the year prepares for Spring performance, a great closure for

    the year.

    • Improves reading fluency, vocabulary, and language.

Practice these plays any time of the day. Class readings of these plays is a high interest activity, so I often have students read a Shakespeare play just before our school day ends. I have found that the excitement that the Shakespeare play generates is an energy pick-me-up for the class.

Double and triple cast the roles of the play to allow students of all reading levels a chance to be in the spotlight.
